Cananga odorata
Voluptuous and exotic ylang ylang is used extensively in perfumery, where it offers a rounded base to middle note. With a scent reminiscent of exorbitant, precious Jasmine, the two interplay very well in any blend. It is also a favourite in hair preparations and brings balance to the skin’s oils. Deeply calming to body and mind, this essential oil is known as a woman’s tonic and aphrodisiac. Ylang goes through several stages of distillation and this is a high quality stage three distillation. A Ylang Ylang Complete distillation is also available if a full-spectrum scent is a must.
Aroma: Middle to base note.
Perfume: Heavy and intensely sweet floral. Exotic with woody and balsamic undertones.
Blends well with: Bergamot, cedarwood, clary-sage, clove, geranium, nutmeg, sandalwood, vetivert.
Indications: anti-depressant, anti-seborrhoeic, anti-septic, aphrodisiac, hypotensive, nervine and sedative.

Precautions: Non toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitising oil. Considered safe to use during pregnancy. However some people do have sensitivities and excessive use can lead to headaches and nausea.
