Salvia officinalis
A strong and penetrating oil, a little of sage goes a long way. It is often used in energy work or can simply add a warm, masculine note to a blend. A female tonic in many ways, cools hot bodies, deodorising and very astringent. Tones skin conditions and brings lustre to hair. Likes the mouth and gums. Improves lymph flow – cleansing and detoxifying. Relieves aches and over-exerted muscles. Stimulates the appetite and helps process fats and increase the body’s flows. Indicated for exhaustion and grief. Use sparingly or substitute with Clary Sage in formulas for people with sensitivities.
Aroma: Top Note.
Perfume: Clear, herbaceous with sharp, camphorous top notes and a warm-spicy undertones.
Blends well with: rosemary, ginger, geranium, bay, lavender, niaouli, orange, lemon and other citrus oils.
Indications: Anti-galactagogue, anti-rheumatic, anti-spasmodic, antiseptic, aperitif, astringent, depurative, diuretic, emmenagogic, hepatic, hypertensive (lowers blood pressure) tonic, febrifuge, insecticidal.
